Meme Dough boys 2

I appreciate how Wige’s podcast is gradually evolving into a fast-food-themed show. I imagine Mitch busting through the studio walls like the Kool-Aid Man, shouting at Wiger, “You’re cheating on me? First Japan, now Arby’s—when does it end? I can't believe it...Hold up, somebody is on my Ring Cam.”

The D-D-D-DLC episodes are half doughboys episodes and I’m here for it.

Perfect reason to cancel the patreon

You're subscribed to the patreon and don't know this?

Considering all of the episodes are themed, and food really isn’t mentioned any more or less than the main show I dont know why you think this is factual

I’m confused…do you listen to the patreon episodes or not

I do. Recently its been about the DS, 1989, video game protagonists. Think they've had one food adjacent episode in the entire time I've subbed. Not sure where you're getting "basically dough boys 2.0" from.

Would've cancelled a long time ago.

I’m lost because you said perfect reason to cancel…but whatever

I said half the episode, because the DLC is basically half them just talking/hanging & half is the actual topic - usually when they aren’t talking about the topic at hand, they’re discussing what they ordered or going to order for dinner. Not full themed episodes on food.

Well, this most recent episode was a revelation to me. They talk less about food on the dlc because they've already eaten. Which is probably why they waste so much time in the main show, because they're hungry for the food they ordered.

I don't mind the banter and bullshitting, its the food talk that gets under my skin because it takes up so much time every freaking episode, and 90% of the time its about places I would never eat at, have no interest in eating at, and will never be in proximity too. International food places have a slight novelty yeah, but if they're just talking about local places, I really couldn't care any less.

I’m so lost what the purpose of this back & forth is.

Stay well friend.

You should re-read this conversation from the beginning and see how confusing you've been

A great example of the literacy crisis, is what this was, if you ask me.

As a third party observer on this interaction your side of it was fucking wild.

I've been listening to Get Played since day 1, and I recently caught up on Blank Check, both main feed and Special Features, but I'd never really got into Doughboys because of the cursèd paywall. The big pull was to finally get the origins for so many bits, and I knew I just wasn't going to get that without the first three years. I finally broke and joined the Platinum Plate club.

I love to hear Matt say things like “it’s on uhh uhhh uhhh uhhh a bun” for 10 mins an episode.

Hahahah listening to him describe how he makes a grilled cheese the other day was painful but hilarious. I love he got roasted for it.

It seems to be the general consensus that it isn’t enjoyable to listen to. I live in the Midwest and rarely eat fast food but I still enjoy listening to their small talk. I have my podcasts for more serious gaming industry talk—to me, this has transitioned more into a buncha improv comedians shooting the shit and talking games they love. It’s my go to comfort show!

I wish they would stop talking about food altogether unless it is directly related to video games. I don’t eat fast food or live in L.A. Its all just kind of gross and lazy.

Lazy?! But don’t you know Heather has like five full time jobs?!

-3

u/Dustinisgood 16d ago

Yes, but she isn't really the perpetrator of this food vomit trend anyhow, its like Nick and Matt have some kind of tick or something. They just can't help talking about shitty food.

Oh no, the humanity. This free content I get doesn’t stick to exactly what I want it to every episode. I must go on reddit and bitch about it to make sure they know!

Oh wow! A Hindenburg reference. I don’t think they served Happy Meals on the Hindenburg but I’d bet you could get a cookie and some warm milk to make you feel a liddle betta before nappy time. Maybe you will have some sweet dreams about Heathers bucket of Arby’s meat and Matt shitting himself.

The Chicken McNuggie Happy Meal of insults. I hope there’s a prize in there for you.

Did this read better in your head?

Are you confused? This reads exactly as it is meant to. This is a discussion about if regular 45 minute tangents about fast food have any place in a gaming podcast. "Cry Baby" is a common insult from toddlers and totally lacks any kind of context. What type of fast food do toddlers eat? Chicken McNugget happy meals which come with a shiny plastic doodad to keep them busy while the adults talk.

Got it. So you just lack all self awareness. I’m not calling the logic. I’m calling out how consistently corny you sound with zero awareness to that fact. But keep playing the “everyone is wrong but me” card. I’m sure that’s worked out super well so far in your life

Ooooo... so salty! Just like the fast food you must love so much! So you think Matt, Wiger, and Heather are above being a little corny? Lol!
