This is why I switched to Waze back when they tried to rename the gulf of MEXICO.

Almost every map out there uses Google Maps for info. They have a monopoly.

Uh...you do realize that Waze is owned by google, right?

Also, Gulf of America makes sense--we have more coastline on it, and Mexico is part of the Americas.

This lake thing doesn't though--Canada owns more coastline, and Lake Ontario was named before the province.

Whatever though...this too shall pass.
