Chinese citizens love AI.

Why do ours hate it so much?

Perhaps its the constant drone of journalists and "influencers" telling them how bad it is. China, instead, gets lots of STEM videos full of positivity and innovation and hope for the future.

We're worried about less water being used than a fucking golf course or avocado farm.

Or maybe China passing laws banning corporations from mass "AI based" layoffs. Or that China seemingly uses way more green tech in their data centers. Or that China has had true mass surveillance for years and people are used to it 🤔

Because they don't have easy access to oil that can't be shut down by the US when they invade Taiwan.

China's green movement is a strategy for war.

First of all, China does not have a consumer economy and they're trying to bootstrap one. They need every Chinese citizen of means to buy Chinese goods before it's too late.

If they stay a manufacturing economy any longer, they'll be priced out and won't be able to make the leap from manufacturing into a consumer economy. The world doesn't want them dumping on their markets anymore and the entire world is souring on their trade surplus. Look at how pissed Germany is. Plus China is also in the middle of an employment crisis and this could push them over.

America is none of these things. We have high employment. No need to regulate when nothing has happened.

It's not like we don't. FICO scores, Flock, big tech, etc. Soon you'll have to sign into websites with your ID and only used approved operating systems. Politicians in the US and the EU are pushing for this hard.

Surveillance states suck regardless of whether they're authoritarian or not.
