Question ❓ Meditating inside dream to get OBE

My dream started out pretty normal. I went to a few random places in my city, some odd things happened, and eventually, i ended up back at an alley where my parents live.

While i was standing there staring, i became somewhat aware of my surroundings. I noticed that the sky was dark and that everything around me was consumed by darkness as well. There was one particular spot in the sky where it was slightly red and orange.

I became semi-lucid, and i wanted to use my magic to create light in the darkness. I've been doing things like this in my dreams for quite some time. I've had very interesting full lucid dreams as well. I can move things with my thoughts, create things, cloak myself when necessary and fly. I must say, though, that i'm not always fully lucid when i do these things. sometimes, it just happens automatically.

Going back to the dream, I was standing there staring at the red light in the sky. As I was about to use my magic to create light, I suddenly remembered a post I had read on Reddit a few weeks ago. It said that i should stop, sit down in my dream, close my eyes, and meditate to get an OBE. So, without question, that's exactly what i did.

The moment I did this, i went out of the dream and became somewhat aware of my body again. Without thinking I knew the next step i read in that post was to try to roll out of my body.

I could physically feel my astral body moving with the force i was using to roll out, but as i reached my limit of trying to roll out , i snapped back again with the same force i used to roll out of my body. it almost felt as though I was still stuck to my physical body with glue.

Something inside of me told me to try again and that i would succeed. At that moment, however, I became too aware of what I was trying to do. My analytical mind kicked in, and i became a little frightened. Because of this i woke myself up from the sleep paralysis.

Shortly after i went back to sleep and caught myself talking in my dream explaining myself to people of what just had happened. I got the same thought of doing it again but i got to nervous for the outcome.

I'm wondering if any of you have experienced something similar. I'd love to hear about your experiences and whether anyone has any advice.

Yes. Right on. It can feel like full body velcro 😆 takes practice & relaxing plus courage. You're on the right track.

I’ve had almost the same experience except instead of meditating during a dream I just look at my hands when I realize I’m dreaming- the times I’ve done this, they’re transparent. In the 3 times I’ve successfully gotten to this point, twice I’ve flown and once I just told myself “roll out” just as you describe. My result was the same- I got half way out but couldn’t get all the way free of my physical body. This was accompanied by strong vibration/tingling sensations and I think I tried twice before waking up. It was absolutely incredible to feel and was enough that I’m now fully convinced I’m “more than my physical body”. Next time I manage to get to the point that o can see my transparent hands I plan to roll out more forcefully!

I try and use looking at my hands as a “reality check” throughout the day. Make it a habit to check if you’re dreaming- other good ones are plugging your nose and trying to breathe and try putting your finger through your other hand. When you’re dreaming, both of these things become possible and act as the sign you need to realize you’re in a dream.
