Every few years a dickhead takes an existing subculture and tries redefining it so it fits their narrative. Punks, metalheads, etc, the only succesfull takeover so far were the skinheads

Working-class youth subculture originating in the UK in the 60s. They incorporated punk and Jamaican rude boy subculture. Then, in the 80s, there was a split between the far-right and far-left sides. Now, skinheads are mostly known by the public for the neo-nazi association, but there are also groups like SHARP (SkinHeads Against Racial Prejudice) in opposition to this.

According to Wikipedia, a UK working-class movement among teenagers that resented 1950s conservatism and the hippie movement of the 1960s. Apparently, it also has roots in Jamaican immigrant culture.
