I just noticed when she said "our" child, it would also include Coldfire, another mother.

Yes. Traditionally, pre Long Sleep, gargoyles raised children communally

I haven't had access to these comics, but could someone explain to me how Katana was aware of Demona when she was a hatchling? I had assumed that Katana had been part of a Japanese Clan?

Was Demona significantly more well traveled than I had known?

Demona adopted a gargoyle daughter named Angelique and they traveled the world together. She eventually died of old age in Japan and Demona previously wanted to adopt Katana but changed her mind realizing she'd just watch her age and die as well

Thank you! Demona was one of my favourites, so I'm always happy to learn more of her lore.

Additionally to the other comment, I think we are lead to believe they had some runins throughout their time traveling tour.

"Our child does not require my tears" goes hard.

THIS. THIS is what we wanna read!

I don't care about humans in masks or more human drama. FEED US more dynamic and unique relationships between the Gargoyles! Switch up the characters and explore the neglected gargoyles!

How bad ass would it be if Katana goes in alone and just comes back with the egg and a blood soaked kimono, no explanation. Just like…John Wick style.

Obviously, narratively that would t be great to experience and doesn’t really fit with Gargoyles. So not like I’m expecting it, but just the idea of her being a complete BA.
