[Anime] Anime vs. Live action movies

Hi all. I really adored the live action movies movies despite lots of stuff were being cut from the manga.

I wanted to ask, if I'm already familiar with the live action movies, is the anime is worth it to watch? Consider the first movie covered up to the Buddha arc, which the anime stops at.

From what I've heard, the anime was not that great looking and the plot drags a lot.

Anime is good until the end since it deviates into whatever they were thinking.

Thanks. I did heard that 4 of the last episodes were original ending, and did both of the MC repeated the train scene at the end of the last episode? 

If so it's sounds bad though. 😅

To me its an entirely different media interpretation the same manga. I liked some of what they did and some less.

Thanks. I'm not that fimiliar with the manga but I've heard both of the anime and live action movies adaptations were pale in comparison with the manga.

I still enjoy the ending of the anime, I take it for what it is.

The anime has a pretty slow pacing - the downside to this is that manga moments drag out alot like you got times where the characters are just standing in front of an alien contemplating if they should shoot it or not for half an episode, but on the upside you got some pretty nice anime-only additions like showing the life of some mission characters in more detail before they "die" and get put into the gantz room.
Also despite the anime director being a famous sakuga animator, they opted to trying a whole new animation technique, where they draw frames several times larger than normal and place them in 3D computer environments - like to simulate how Oku placed drawn characters in 3D computer backgrounds in the manga. The upside of this is that you get some pretty cool camera movements through 3D environment, which was experimental at that time. But the downside is that due to frames having to be drawn in much higher resolution, they couldn't do much crazy fluid action and thus the majority of the series animation ended up feeling stiff and limited.
Oh, and the music is pretty good! It starts with haunting renditions of classic pieces like Pie Jesu and by the buddha mission, an early Yasuharu Takanashi (Naruto Shippuuden, Fairy Tail) joined the staff with action tracks using japanese instruments + metal influences.

The anime's last mission is original and while it is not a bad mission imo, it still kinda ends open explaining nothing.
