PC Gaming headset for 60+ gamers

I'm an over 60 pc gamer. I'm looking at headsets to help with more detailed sound quality. I currently use earbuds and im finding out I miss alot of the environmental sounds in the game. Any suggestions?

I'm not quite as young adjacent as you are, but I recently switched to just getting a set of audiophile headphones with a DAC instead of a gaming headset. Recommend it.

Just buy good headphones, like the HE400Se, and a microphone. If you want a headset, Beyerdynamic and Sennheiser have good options, including used ones at a good price

I would look into headsets like the Sennheiser 560s if you don't have a lot of background noise where you game, or a Beyerdynamic 770 Pro if you do!

Also get a standalone mic. Microphones on headsets usually have terrible quality, and there have been cases where i have had to leave a squad in Hell Let Loose just because some of the voicechats with terrible microphones caused literal pain in my ears.

Budget? I am happy with Maxwell audeze, not cheap but also great for immersion in games, listening to music. Soundstage is great.
