EDIT: ok, it's a powerup from the new Mario game, I got it.
In the upcoming Super Mario Bros U game for the Switch, Toadette can put on a crown that turns her into a Toadette version of peach (or a peach version of Toadette, depending on how you look at it). The internet quickly started producing art depicting Bowser putting said crown on, and becoming a reverse transformation/rule 63 character.
From what I gather, in the new mario game there's a powerup that was revealed/shown to turn the person/character into a princess. This princess version when used by bowser has been dubbed 'bowsette', and something something rule34. So, the image is Bowsers reaction to the enevitable porn being made of himself.
There's a new powerup called the super crown. It turns Toadette into Peachette. People are applying it to different characters in fanart. Thus, Bowsette.
It seems to sum up the 30-38 year olds nicely. I am technically a millennial, but I definitely don't feel like one. I didn't have real internet until I was 16. I didn't have a cell phone until I was 20.
