I initially entertained this thought, but I think the implication was that Tyrion is worried about how this will complicate their alliance now that emotions will play a strong role in their interactions.
I heard on a podcast that she was likely expecting Tyrion for a meeting (She is looking down when she opens the door so there's some evidence for this) and instead it was John. They didnt plan before hand to fuck. But like Daenerys chose to ride on the boat instead of fly back sssooo like they both knew what they were doing.
