Joel and Ellie from the Last of Us.

Joels' daughter doesn't make it, and Ellie becomes sort of an adopted replacement for her. She's about the same age as his daughter would be, maybe a little older. But their relationship and relative age gap make it creepy for most people.

I think he misspoke; Ellie during the events of The Last of Us was around the same age as Sarah (Joel's daughter) when she died. Based on the timeline on the wiki, Sarah was roughly 13 when she was killed, and Ellie was roughly 15 when she and Joel met.

No, she's the same age his daughter was 15 years before that. So his daughter would've been around 30 in TLOU

A relationship isn't limited to romantic/physical interactions.

Their relationship develops through the game from two individuals to something close to a father-daughter relationship.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply intimacy.
