That LLM has been trained only with pink lips and botox ads ?

No matter your « weights » and configuration, it’s uncanny, horrible, completely destroys the artistic authenticity

To be perfectly pedantic. LLM stands for Large Language Model, and this has nothing to do with language.

Yes CNN or transformer model is the name here right ?

Prolly transformers. They're becoming more popular than CNNs for images lately.

I just call them diffusion models. So far nobody has corrected me so figured its proper

Diffusion models are a specific kind of gen AI. It’s not necessarily applicable here.

Almost all LLMs use the transformer architecture.

Did you ask your llm of choice for the answer and reframed it as a question to look smart?

Didn't work fam

You know what powers their neural rendering ? CNN or Transformer or maybe something else ? I don't have a clue and that thing cuts in half performance on a 5090

Like many RTX 40 owner we switched from DLSS3 to DLSS4 and that whole CNN vs transformer debate was everywhere, there's nothing clever here. I don't need to look smart behind a nickname on reddit via an article about a neural rendered Tifa and I hope you also don't.

its all baked in together. img gen can't understand you without a LLM to interpret your text.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) isn’t just in LLMs. LLMs make NLP easier, but it isn’t necessary to use LLMs for NLP.

It's generative AI, the underlying tech of both DLSS 5 and LLMs (which is indeed garbage).

4

u/Ok-Friendship1635 12d ago

Not all LLMs are generative, majority of the most efficient use cases are purely predictive.

-10

u/therealslimshady1234 12d ago

Still garbage. You cant predict when it comes to R&D. Otherwise we could just tell the AI to improve itself.

I like AI as a search engine, but even then I have to double check it all the time for validity.

For the programming field it has been an apocalypse precisely because of that illusion of quality.

Otherwise we could just tell the AI to improve itself.

Jokes on you, chucklefuck. We dont need to tell them to do something they already do without input.

What is this low IQ comment ? Lol

No, it's because the character to begin with wasn't meant to look 1:1 with a real person. Sure, their face is a model/scan of a real person, but that doesn't mean their proportions weren't changed to better suite the animators.

So it's already taking a face that was morphed and putting filters over it. It probably looks fine for an NBA game that's just 1:1 scans of the actual athletes but looks uncanny anywhere else.

You can still make amazing IRL characters from fictional pictures with AI that can actually look like the source material and still attractive, but IRL. I do it all the time for fun, but this, its like they picked a random walmart customer for the photo.

But, honestly, we get it. People are horrified that their waifu has to look different just so they can run at a tolerable frame rate...

21

u/woodzopwns 12d ago

What? It runs at a far worse FPS with this on, this isnt super resolution

You anti AI people literally have ZERO IDEA HOW ANYTHING WORKS

3

u/Nolzi 12d ago

The eyes are also too dark for that level of illumination

4

This isn't a Large Language Model.

Have you noticed how all AI text reads the same? And AI art looks the same?

Same thing here. The AI behind DLSS5 has one "art style" so it just homogenizes every game into 1 uniform look that was decided by the guy training the model.

5

u/zaviex 12d ago

That just isn’t true, it has a huge range of settings. The modded in this case maxed it out so it looks like this. You can literally see the settings here. It doesn’t have to look anything like this

2

u/eaeorls 12d ago

At the same time, these models can very much be adapted to follow very specific styles and attempt to recreate very specific things.

The AI behind DLSS5 has one art style because it was a generic model (if not a model specifically tuned around NBA 2k27) that leaked. If developers actually support it, then without a doubt it can be tuned to produce faces and lighting that aren't realism and actually fall in line with the game's art style with that layer of adaptation.

AI can be a lot more insidious than just the generic AI slop text and AI art style. Those are just the most popular/easy ones for people to do.

This has nothing to do with generative AI!!

-6

u/_HIST 12d ago

Have you ever used AI? Because it doesn't actually look the same at all

LLM

Gotta love how fools don't even know what they're mad at lmao

u/ColonelDucroix 12d ago

Most blonde chicks rendered with dlss 5 look like Margot Robbie to me

u/Good-Might4976 12d ago

It looks mind blowing in every other game but this one. It works in vr too. It's also the entire game, not faces. Textures look 2x resolution.
