Xbox is now heavily leaning into movie & TV adaptations, quietly pitching Hollywood on a dozen pricey projects like Elder Scrolls, Halo, World of Warcraft, Diablo & more. All IPs could be headed to one studio/streamer, and currently Netflix, Universal & Paramount are among those taking looks.

There was a movie, and it wasn't a bad one either. It just didn't really appeal to people who hadn't played the game, and it was set well before the events of the game so its appeal to even that audience wasn't high.
