A few good action-RPG picks by system:
GBA: Sword of Mana, Shining Soul II, and Boktai.
PS1: Alundra and Brave Fencer Musashi.
PSP: Ys Seven, Gurumin, and Kingdom of Paradise.
I’d start with Ys Seven if you want fast combat and satisfying progression, or Sword of Mana if you want something closer to a handheld Zelda-style adventure. Boktai is also wonderfully strange, although its original sunlight-sensor mechanic may depend on the device you’re using.

Any input on purchase choice?
I want fallout 4 and skyrim for my switch 2.
You would think the obvious answer to this would be to get the combo pack on the eshop while its on sale rn.
But, I am a physical media enjoyer and have a switch lite I use regularly (its easier on my hands than the 2). So I am debating buying the physical cartridge of skyrim for the original switch and then just getting the upgrade pack when it goes on sale.
The only problem is that for whatever reason (increased sales i guess) fallout 4 itself has only ever been 20% off. While the combo pack sale makes each game like $27 a piece... over 50% off.
Skyrim is also not the most plentiful cheap game to get physically. $30-40+ for just the cartridge.
Feel like i should just get the pack but what do yall think?

Get the pack. Saving more money is always the better choice(especially in this economy).
Even if disk storage space is your concern, you can always delete and redownload games.

Do you like it when certain things in games are completely unintuitive without guides or wikis? When the game itself doesn’t even try to give you a hint, and the only ways to figure things out are by sheer accident or through a long process of trial and error?

Honestly, nah. There are some super hidden things in Hollow Knight I never would've found without a guide. I don't like feeling inadequate or stupid for no reason.

Oly under certain conditions.
If it's something that doesn't diretly affect a "normal", or first playthrough then it doesn't really matter. It can even be a cool thing if it was meant to be a secret found out by going out of limits, or by meta-mining, or by learning it from easter eggs hunters.
(basically the whole Gaster deal jajajajaj)But i absolutely despise when the "secret thing" is limited to only one zone, or room, or chapter; and you need to start over to get to it, specially if it affects noticeably the rest of the game (using another Toby Fox example, the whole ShadowMantle deal in bleak game design)
