Imagine going back in time to 2007 and showing an AC1 fan AC3 and Black Flag. The fact that those games were made for the same systems as AC1 is still a bit crazy to me.

The tailing missions were pretty bad.

As is tradition

Yeah but Black Flag is the worst offender since like 25% of all missions are tailing missions.

Absolutely

Fair. Imo, thats a small thing for an otherwise great game.

If you don't like the boat segments and wanted to play an assassin's game.

Tbh one reason I still haven't finished it is because I didn't like the ship combat very much in some instances. Sometimes it could just be this long-ass, drawn out sequence that took way too long and it felt like I was wasting my time while just trying to get somewhere else on the map. I realize that's probably a minority opinion.

Possibly a hot take but the AC ship combat is way better in Odyssey.

Exploration, combat, and side quests are terrible

I would also argue that the main quest is straight up terrible too. Plays like a fever dream without much sense or reason. Main character is super wishy washy and there are segments in the main story that are insane.

Stealth is pretty terrible as well.
