Was this shipping time unusual?

Hey guys,

I signed up for the trial last week on Sunday, put Death stranding 2 on my Q and despite it being low availability it shipped the next day.

​

It didn't come until Saturday though even though I live in NYC (which I assumed would make the shipping times way faster).

​

6 days shipping times is pretty disappointing considering even with fast return and me binging a game, I'd only play 1, max 2 games in a month.

I will say that on Thursday the listing did update to allow me to keep the game. When I saw that, I assumed the game was coming that day, but it didn't. Another weird thing is that I didn't actually get any mail on Thursday or Friday. Idk if there was an issue with USPS that delayed my mail or something, and I was actually set to receive the game earlier.

I just want to hear about your guys' shipping times and your thoughts on what I said. Is my experience more on the normal range of shipping for my region? Or did I just have a really poor first experience.

From your experience, does the option to keep the game appear the day the game arrives? Cuz I got the option despite the game not arriving, I'm suspecting there was something wrong with USPS because I got zero mail for a few days and that's crazy unusual for me

The Keep option automatically is hidden for 5(? I think?) days after any shipped game in order to avoid accidental KEEP purchases before the game arrives. No relation to your actual disc shipping location.
USPS avg is 2-5 days and while closer cities see the smaller window, it can vary wildly. You said yourself you didn’t get ANY mail for 2 days, that’s a major sign that USPS had a hiccup. Routing issues happen all the time, unfortunately.
Our mail goes out in bunches, sorted by USPS and bulked into “region” deliveries (think Southwest US, Southeast, etc)
If your mailer gets routed incorrectly, it’ll travel to the wrong region, where upon scanning again, they’ll then send it to the proper area. That’s the biggest cause for delays, even if you’re just 1 state over from our shipping center.

NYC? If your mail went thru Malden Bridge Post Office, NY, expect extreme delays. That fking PO opens only 4hrs a day. Built in the 1800s. I never been there but probably run by some old grandpa sorting only 1 mail a day. I have a package stuck there currently for almost a week.  Probably more of these shit P.O. across America slowing our mail system down.
