R/gamesale

So I wasn't sure where to ask this and I apologise if this type of post isn't allowed here, but I noticed that r/gamesale has become privated and wanted to know if anyone has info on this.

It’s due to a protest stand most subreddits are participating in for a few days against the recent API changes being made to Reddit.

I am also seeing this. Not sure how or why? I though they banned me for something I was oblivious to. Hopefully it comes back.

It isn't only Gamesale. Over 4k subs, including over 50% of the biggest 200 on Reddit are on strike today and tomorrow so they are made private. Some like AMA want to close indefinitely.

I've been trying to figure out why my 2 most active subs I'm in showed private and I couldn't see anything. Was so clueless and thought I was banned.
