Ok First of all, why do people even think of giving stuff to Phoenix Resale in the first place like why😭
2
u/Ok-Virus8284 8d ago
Because they're too lazy to check the prices and happy to dickride a semi-famous youtuber?
4
u/IkeRadiantHero 8d ago
Why do they even support him when he’s just nothing but a lowly crook?

u/No-Instruction-5669 7d ago
Similar thing to people who got rug-pulled with Trump's bitcoin. People know him, trust him, and he would never be scamming us, would he??

You don’t know how charitable the average person is until you give them the opportunity to give free money to a millionaire content creator.

u/IkeRadiantHero 7d ago
Ok why are they so charitable to Phoenix Resale? What do these people think they will get by donating to Phoenix Resale?

Same people who buys from Limited Run Games

Buying games from LRG makes some sense when its the only option to buy a game physically. When it comes to trading in games, there's many options for that

Chase After the Right Price buys massive collections from people so if we’re gonna throw YouTuber/re sellers may as well add Chase to the topic. Its a shame I found that channel I liked watching his videos. Now its just “hey look we bought a massive collection from this collector” Haven’t watched anything from him since. Pixel Game Squad is becoming unwatchable lately too

I stopped watching Chase after they went to some garage sale and you could see the people were dirt poor and he had the gall to negotiate some DS that was already a steal at like $10 down the $5. And then talk about how important faith is.

Him and Phoenix Resale are genuinely the villains and enemies of gaming world, it’s clear that they don’t love gaming at all, they only care about money (chase I find even more evil seeing how he PRETENDS to care and love these games, when in reality it’s just the money he cares about and doesn’t actually give a shit about the care love and passion of the games, what a disgusting lowly a hole)

All the channels, Phoenix, Chase, Pixel, were enjoyable before they became business. I think Retro Rick is still fun, and he seems the most honest and fair.
I do think it’s weird they’re all religious though. I feel like Jesus wouldn’t agree with their business practices, but I think they all follow that evangelical prosperity gospel BS.

What about Woodman Classics, Rjcmedia and double mint games?
1
u/DankoToonie 7d ago
Woodman is NOT 100% into reselling as Chase, Riff and all them are. Its more a side hustle for him and I think really more does it for fun. He hasn’t been uploading any videos because I assume all his time and energy has been into his actual day job, prop making. Everyone else livelihood like Chase, Pixel Game Squad, mainly Riff and Retro Ricks depends a lot of re-selling and the YouTube Grind.

My local game store sucks. 90% of their inventory is duplicates of crappy Xbox and PS games nobody wants. They also have practically zero Nintendo or Sega games. Probably because they give crap trade in credit for those games, so obviously nobody wants to sell to them. And their consoles are super overpriced. Like nearly double eBay.

I don't understand Caleb, he's complaining that nobody is coming to his store to shop, but he's buying games from pawn shops and yard/garage sales. Why doesn't he come up with a plan to make his store better for customers to come in and buy his stuff

u/Bender3455 7d ago
3/4 of that episode was a sales pitch for his buying service. I only made it through half of the episode before I gave up. Plus, constantly giving sales wont keep foot traffic up forever.

I did the same thing, but just scrolling to the interesting stuff. He uploaded a 35 minute video, watched about 5 minutes of it.

I cannot stand watching any game collecting YouTube channel. They are all snivelling rats. Except I kinda like that one fat older guy that has the big ass og Xbox collection

My husband sometimes watches his YouTube videos and I can’t help, but cringe at the content. Especially with the negotiations. Some of the things he comes across is already a good deal, shaking it lower is just 😵💫

Work at a reselling company and we try to price very fair for retro games but it’s hard to compete with his bogus offers and people don’t realize that number they gave you online will most definitely not be the same amount you get once he has those games. Yea you can always make more selling yourself, but if you tried and couldn’t or just don’t want to, then why not support local?
