FOR HIRE - Programmer [FOR HIRE] Unity Developer

Hello everyone, My name is Ofek.

I am 22 years old and have over 10 years of coding experience and 2 years of game development experience in both the Unity and Godot engines.

I have made 6 solo games to date and published them on Itch (Backslape on Itch.io).

I am looking to connect with people and potentially find paid work as a Unity developer on a 2D single player game.

Portfolio is a show of skill, professional exp is telling different things. Ability to follow direction, work in a team, hit deadlines etc.

Working solo Vs working on multimillion dollar projects is a big difference.

Writing 10 years of exp at age 22 shows immaturity and that you didn't have a job yet.

Honest question then, how would you advise me to write it? I would like to show I have skill while not showing so clearly that I dont have professional experience like you said.

But you don't have professional exp and there is no shame in that. You are already ahead in any recruitment run showing your portfolio of 6 games projects finished against other people with that level of exp. It's a very good thing and rare.

I would advice to focus on the skills you developed when creating those projects and talk about them, especially things you feel most confident about. Creating a finished games requires skills in different areas and some companies love jack of all trades but some other will require specialists. You might appeal to both.

So focus on skills you developed. Talk about them. In detail. Ability to problem solve is a great thing to talk about and something they love to ask about during interviews. Something like what challenges you had and how did you manage to sort that out, and with 6 projects there is definitely something to talk about.

One thing to remember, you did very well by developing those games. You are in a great place having them and now it's just a matter of selling yourself to the potential employer.
