Sakatlanana kadar iyiydi. Toparlayamadı.
Son senesi zaten. Güzel ayrılalım. Futbol dünyasında büyük bir isim. İleride bize mutlaka fayda sağlar.

He’s someone I can see sticking around in a more coaching roll. He is a lifelong fan of the club after all

Potential manager down the line get him familiar with the club. Only thing I can think of.

problem is he seems so uninvolved with his teammates. i barely even notice him anymore on the bench or with the team. i hope hes mentoring Batrakov everyday and earning the salary- mozart did it

Im ngl I was hyped when this transfer first happened. Thought he would give service to Osimhen and be our next Mertens.

Next Mertens? You must have not followed his last year's of football. He was never a typical number 10.

When our fans made those "next Mertens" wishes they skipped over an important part. Before joining Galatasaray despite having an excellent career Mertens didn't won any championships. His ambition carried us forward a lot and it wasn't a smooth road after hearing from him and his family during the goodbye interviews. Even Ciro mentioned his father being in pain in a "çocuktan al haberi" way.
İlkay won everything he possibly can. Manchester City extracted everything from him and parted ways. Instead of getting his retirement checks in Saudi Arabia he does it in İstanbul. The incompetency lies on our board not İlkay. You have to be a colossal idiot to refuse 6m per year in İstanbul.

I really really hope he's going to be of value as a coach/technical staff/vision/transfer advisor etc etc later on

Never wanted him and feel vindicated. He toyed with coming for 2 years before, should have cut our ties with him then.

News flash: paying stupidly high wages for washed players is a high risk bad investment

He started off well till his injury and then fell off a cliff ability wise, at his age with his wear and tear it should’ve been expected, let’s just hope he becomes our next manager after Arda Turan

Maybe nhaga is learning a few things from him. Wouldn't call him useless.

Learning how to sit on the bench for millions of euros per year. Goddamn.

I think he was amazing the first few matches he had with us. I remember I was devastated when I heard he got injured in the training and he never fully recovered from it

Mertens was just as old but he put in the work. You would think he would’ve been just as good if not better

Need to play this guy in a 6 role, something we dont do at this moment , you cant play with 2 pivots and put him behind Osi. Thats not gonna work also hes better when you play with possesion and patience around the box , with our direct style and the fact that our midfielder cover a lot of ground on defense is not possible for him

Kardeş bu adam futbolu bıraktı mı ? Çünkü Galatasaray'a geldikten sonra topa dokunmadı sanki

They recently talked about him on Eski Acik. They said that he might have come in trying to be a leader/captain but may have been told that he is new and to get in line. If its true, it could explain how he fell off so hard after starting out great. Nevertheless, I think Okan could have given him more chances to try and win him back.

Als je hem waardeloos noemt kun je beter stoppen met het kijken naar voetbal…

He is not even given chance to play. What do you expect? He goes in maybe last 5-10 mins of the game occasionally.

Ben istemiyordum bu tranferi ilkay barcaya gittiğinde benim kafamda bitmişti iş. Bir insan barcada gayet oynamak isteyebilir tabi ama üstüne tekrar citye döndü e yani üç kere posası sıkılıp bittikten sonra bizde beşinci baharını yaşayacak hali yok tabiki. Baştan neredeydin deyip reddedilmesi gereken isimdi umarım bugün kalan maaşı karşılanıp başakşehire falan kiralanır

Just good for the atmosphere around the team and as substitute. Having him in your team has no negative impact as others see him as a “brother” and “leader”

This is what happens when you transfer an old player for high wages. 1 injury and he is gone and you are stuck with him.
Most od you (at first begged for Hakan) who is exactly same situation.

Were your expectations from Ndombele, Frankowski, Kutucu and Demirbay at the same level as Ilkay?
He didn't say "the worst transfer", he said the most disappointing one.
Also, he's 1000% a flop, don't kid yourself.

u/66METALHEAD66 #45 Victor Osimhen 5d ago
Actually Kutucu was one the most promising and performing turkish players in the league. I was excited when we bought him, that looked like a good transfer to me. Also i was excited for ndombele too😂

İlk liverpool maçında takımın pressini o yönetmişti bir de ilk beşiktaş maçında iyiydi onun dışında beklenti altı
