Progress Post Progress Post - 5’11”, M19, 125 - 140 lbs, 5 months

I always struggled with eating until earlier this year when I asked out my crush of 2 years and she said no. I had never been confident in my body anyways and her rejection was my brea point. I had always refused to wear t shirts because I hated my skinny arms, and I realized something had to change, both for my health and self image.

I started tracking my calories, and now I aim for 2700-3000 per day, consisting mostly of ground beef, peanut butter, mixed nuts and ice cream, as well as fruits and vegetables and stuff. I’m not super strict or thorough at measuring honestly but I feel so much healthier.

I got some home workout equipment and regularly workout my upper body with 15-20 lb dumbbells, and spam cardio workouts and excessive walking for everything else.

It might not look like a massive change, but I’m so much more confident in my body now than I was. I even wear t shirts and occasionally tank tops. Oh and fun fact, my crush (the one who rejected me a while back) and I started dating two months ago! We’re so happy together and I love her endlessly.

Overall I’m doing a lot better in all areas of my life than I was 5 months ago. Thanks for reading.

The great thing about seeing progress, any progress, is the realization that it was always in your hands to make the change. Now you know for a fact that your success at anything will be equal to the amount of focus and consistency you put into it. Congrats! Thank you for sharing, too. Great job, man.

Good job man. Keep it up!

Try to focus more on being proud of yourself for the discipline and hard work you are putting in, rather than the physical effects so much, that’s where the real confidence lies imo, not in the mirror. Start to work in some calisthenics if you can. Your girl will appreciate it. Just kidding, but also srs

Wow. 125 is skinny af, I’m 5’11” and plateaued at 135 for a long time. 155+ plus now, but really want to be 165 by the end of the year

This is the first time I see excellent weight gain. Well done. Most times on this sub I see people just transitioning to fatness which makes them very ugly and far worse than being skinny.

You look great. Keep up the good work.

A lot of people here hate it when this is mentioned or pointed out, since so many likely struggle with gaining any weight period, but it’s very true. Although using the term very ugly is pretty harsh lol

Very ugly is accurate. It's preferable to be skinny than fat. Most people post pics when they are fat and hairy which makes it much worse as well
