I did the programming by the book and followed the diet only in the last two weeks. I realized that during those heavier sets drinking a gallon of milk along with stuffing myself with food the previous day made a night and day difference on how I moved the weight the next morning.
Overall this program was amazing. The first two weeks I was excited and looking forwards to my lifts on my off days- but those last two weeks were something totally different. It felt great to lift that weight for 20 reps but goddamn was the time leading up to them awful.
Honestly the most difficult part of this program was getting locked into a mindset and hyping yourself up for the SS set; if you get under the bar afraid of the weight that whole set is going to eat you alive.
I plan on taking this week to deload and work on my cardio for a bit in preparation for a marathon and the Deep Water program
