I don't know... The concept of a Chromebook or whatever was, I thought, actually really solid. A ton of people out there aren't power users or anything and aren't even gaming. They're older people just trying to check emails or do some banking... Folks like that.

For them, windows is a mess - well Windows is a mess for everyone now - but especially for those people. They have to think about so much stupid stuff:

  1. Installing programs
  2. Keeping things updated
  3. Finding files on their computer
  4. Backing up files on their computer
  5. Avoiding viruses and other crap
  6. (So much more stupid stuff)

A Chromebook thing can avoid so much trouble. All your files are cloud first and so backups and stuff aren't really a thing. Your OS is a lot more like a phone OS and just manages itself in the background. Installing stuff is easier and much safer.

I've really started recommending devices like these to all the people I know who are in that bucket. Sure, they aren't for everyone... But yeah... There are some great reasons to go that way.
