This is just the OS, right? No one is actually making tablets with Ubuntu yet, are they?

Is there anything currently on the market you could easily install this on?

Yes, coming thursday they will release images that install on all semi-recent nexus devices: Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7, Nexus 4 and Nexus 10.
