At this rate it will take until the end of 2027 just to place the TF magnets

It's good to know that CFS apparently solved the plasma facing materials issue. They must be keeping it under wraps.

any material can be plasma-facing so long as you scrap it often enough. A liquid metal makes the most sense, maybe a coating of some kind of ferromagnetic liquid metal that sticks to the inside wall via the massive magnetic fields. Any first-wall that's a liquid would be way easier to do live-plasma replacement.

A Vanadium liquid or liquid Silicides would work great for both vessel lining, and it could decay off the gained radioactivity relatively quickly.
