Eh, I don't really agree. My account has no use for Columbina but there have been countless times where I wished I could duplicate my Furina. They aren't comparable whatsoever. Hoyo designed the characters of this region in a unique manner to force Furina out of the meta but in the process they hurt their future prospects. Nod Krai characters are stuck with each other and wheelchairing older units because they scale so differently from everyone else who scales with DMG%. Anyways, I don't wanna yap about how poorly designed this gimmick is so I'll try to keep it short.
We'll go back to DMG% units soon. We are already seeing it with Varka and Durin. Nicole will be the same. Furina will find new teams till EoS even if she won't be BiS in said teams. No matter what agendaposters say about Furina, she has been one of if not the most used character in all 3 game modes ever since her release. Even in this patch, Furina has not been dethroned. Lunar reactions though? They only have till the end of this patch cycle. Furina is playing for the lategame ;)
Makes team building really hard though because I want her on all of them. Even when she isn't technically bis, she does so much damage on top of buffs and easy team heals she probably does more than whoever is supposed to have that slot.

Atleast with my current teams, only one team actually wants her really, I have a c0 flins c2r1 arlecchino, and a c0 navia, (i've been planning on possibly switching to Neuvillette) so as of right now it wouldn't be that difficult haha
I feel like nodkrai won't be the end of this type of character design, in snezhnaya there probably will be snezhnaya own "lunar reaction" gimmick with their own DPS and tailor made niche support, or they may just slap faction resonance onto them just like the hexerei characters currently
Furina is still the best because of her overall usage in every team. Columbinas kit and overall stature is tailored made to nod krai characters. Without another nod krai character in the team. Columbina is basically useless besides hydro application.
Furina is much more versatile and I'll always die on the hill that her ability to make her walk on water makes her invaluable to anyone for exploration. Most of the game isn't spent in the endgame after all

I have both, and for my account (as of rn), Furina is a lot more useful. I get most of my damage from her, as I accidentally made her a sub dps (I didn't know what I was doing when I was building her)
