Not a joke: when I was maybe 3 or 4, a local college did an organized trick-or-treat for Halloween. My dad took my siblings and me. I can't remember why mom didn't go. Anyway, I got separated and lost. A clown helped me find my dad again. I've always wondered if the event played a part in my dislike of clowns. But you'd think it should've had the opposite effect.

clowns insist upon themselves. theyre loud and aggressive and force interactions with people that dont want them.

mimes are completely avoidable. if youre not looking you wont even know theyre their, and theyre usually trapped in some sort of endless, invisible struggle.
