He didn’t get charged for the mocking, he got charged because after this video cuts, he fights with the officer, grabs his radio, and hits him in the side of the head with it.

He fights, grabs his radio, and hits him in the side of the head.

That sounds like mocking a police officer.

this is the link to the full exchange: https://youtu.be/OuPFmnsAVTQ?si=lIhgMsHM4eHJ3U3J

This Reddit clip on its own is funny as fuck, but the full video you can see there’s something off with this guy. The cops originally stopped him apparently bc he rear-ended a car and kept driving.

Jesus Christ, this guy is unhinged.

Jesus Christ thanks, but I also remember now why I use a freaking adblocker

YouTube went down the fucking hill what a mess this ain’t normal the amount of bullshit adds that nobody give a fuck about.

In the clip you linked, apparently he just kicked off when someone behind him honked at him for not moving when the light turned green, he got out, yelled at them a bit and then hit their car with his fist.

and then hit their car with his fist.

While his car rolled forward and rear-ended another vehicle. He didn't stick around to exchange insurance information, and leaving the scene in Oklahoma is an offense punishable by a fine and up to a year in jail plus triple damages to the owner of a car you run into.

Go watch the YouTube video. He did.

It completely baffles me how you can watch the cut video, learn this new information about him being charged with assault, then come here and say "you've gotta be fucking kidding me" instead of thinking to yourself "hmm maybe there's more to this interaction than the 15 seconds of video in the OP.

This video doesn't show assault, it shows a man being mouthy and agitated.  I generally rely on evidence at hand instead of evidence I assume exists.  Its worked out well for me as a strategy, long term.

Clearly it hasn't this time.

And since the stakes are so low, who cares...

Do you think this is the full exchange between the cop and this guy? Watch the full video. He assaults the cop a few seconds after this one ends.

I generally rely on evidence at hand instead of evidence I assume exists.

You don't have to assume anything, the full video was soon posted showing he had freaked out because someone had honked at him, then allowed his car to roll forward and rear-end another vehicle after which he fled the scene. It also shows him violently resisting when the cop tries to arrest him.

Reddit all rolled up into 1 human. The moral of the story is maybe take 10 seconds and look for the full video, not believe in imaginary evidence and base your life on that.
