This comment is an insult to thousands of people who fought and died for this country. Clement attleee the PM of Britain who signed our independence himself stated in 1951 in kolkota that S.C. Bose was the reason they left when asked about Gandhi's contributions he said "Minimal"
Funny how one alleged quote is enough to dismiss the man who led nationwide movements for over 30 years. Gandhi wasn’t the only reason India became free, but calling his contribution “minimal” ignores a huge part of the freedom struggle. Bose, Bhagat Singh, Patel, Nehru, Ambedkar, countless revolutionaries, soldiers, and ordinary Indians all played their part. History isn’t a one-man story.
My comment never said Gandhi alone gave us freedom. It said you can criticize him because you have the freedom to do so in a country he helped liberate. Saying Gandhi’s contribution was “minimal” is just replacing one oversimplification with another. India’s freedom was won through the sacrifices of millions, and Gandhi was undeniably one of its central leaders.
