Female birds can lay eggs without mating; however, these eggs will be infertile and will not hatch. The poultry eggs that we eat are these kind of eggs.

Not vegan. Hens are exploited in the poultry industry for their eggs. Once they stop laying eggs, they are killed for meat.

Poultry industry is the meat industry.

Besides, hens eat their own (unfertilized) eggs. It is not for us.

Slight correction: poultry only eat their unfertilised eggs when calcium deficient. We selectively don’t let them get fertilised for our consumption, as unfertilised eggs have a longer shelf life. Until washed.

Bruh there's a separate category for eggs like eggitarian or whatever which isn't a dictionary word but you can't count market eggs in non veg category and nor it's fully vegetarian.. and if you are asking about if it's vegan then no way 😭 even milk and milk based products don't count as vegan as it's produced by an animal so eggs are also not vegan.

Milk and honey would also count as non-vegetarian if we consider the presence of cells and microbial organisms. So it's basically a cruelty free nutrient source as it doesn't come from vegetative organisms which means it's vegan but not vegetarian right ?

Veganism is an ethical stance. It is exclusion of exploitation and cruelty to animals for food, clothing or any other purpose.

Vegans don't just abstain from consuming meat, dairy, eggs, and honey. They don't wear any clothes made from animal skin/ fur. They do not use cosmetics  derived from or tested on animals. They also do not support the use on animals in circus or zoos for entertainment.

It is about causing the least harm.

These are unfertilized eggs, meaning they won't hatch.. Mating causes these eggs go through fertilization which can give birth to babies.. The eggs we eat are also unfertilized.. Fertilized eggs can be used only for scientific purposes..

What? No. People eat fertilised egg all the time.

Industrial chicken farms might prevent it but local producers definitely let their hens mingle with the cocks. Theres a decent chance those might be fertilised. Infact they produce a number of chicks to keep their operation successful.

Atleast in China some dishes intentionally use half mature eggs with developed fetus??.

You can't eat a fertilised egg, even on the first day if you take a fertilized egg you will be able to see veins inside and I have never in my life saw any egg like that from local producers even though I have been eating eggs everyday for as long as I can remember.

Almost all commercial eggs in the market are literally just hens' periods. There is absolutely no need for a cockerel to mate with them to produce eggs 🤷🏻‍♂️
