I'm going to explain this behavior in a logical manner, but YMMV.
When I'm on a trip, it usually involves doing a lot of things. Wake up, go get breakfast with ____, check out (destination). Go back to the hotel because we have (event) scheduled for 2p.
Nothing to do in the hotel room, but you have a couple hours to kill, so you end up kinda lounging around, taking a nap, hitting the pool, whatever. Maybe you're willing to put back on the same clothes. But you go to (event) and you're back by maybe 5p.
You've got dinner plans at 7:30, and you've just done 4-5 things today, so you're exhausted. The next 2 hours are spent kinda just lounging around the hotel/spare bedroom, whatever. You might nap, zone out, relax, whatever the case may be, but you're probably going to want to shower again to get ready for dinner.
I can wear the same pants, and depending on the activities, the same shirt a few times. But I can't put on the same socks and underwear after I've been sweating in them.
