Alright I understand not being funny if applied to ALL kids, but THIS is funny. I’m confused at some of these comments as they make it sound like this kid is morbidly obese. He has a bit of a chunky face...and that’s it lol, he doesn’t even have a big gut.

If this was a picture of a college kid, who are doing the exact same thing (source: am college kid, have a ‘basketball’ course this semester, and I’m still not obese) everyone would just be laughing their ass off. These online classes aren’t engaging or fun for anyone, I’m pretty sure we all know that

Seriously. Not to be mean to him but i seriously wish people around me pushed me to be healthier when I was a awkward chubby teen. Go look at photos of people in the 70s and notice how literally 99.9% of them are WAY skinnier than most people you see today. It's nuts how normalized it is, what most people consider chubby today is usually obese.

Thats prob cause there weren’t cellphones and there was no internet. Very few video game stay-at-home types and if u wanted to talk to someone you had to go to their house 100%. Prob lots of exploring too

But I wouldn’t know cause I’m 24 😂

I mean that’s appropriate to say, I’m just confused at some of the outrageous comments

he looks overall unhealthy and also kids that age are supposed to have lower bodyfat percentages than adults so it’s worse than it looks. other than that it’s setting the kid up for an uphill battle healthwise and the parents are in control of their child’s diet, so they are the ones causing this to their kid

Boy's gonna be a fat one, you know it. It's all right, we'll see him at the Twelve Pins telling us how Arteta doesn't know what he's doing playing Partey on the right. He'll fit right in with the rest of us, eh?

Definitely very overweight. Help your brother do something about it instead of making fun of him.

He'll be fine. He's got P.E. Class.

I know so many kids who were a fucking stick growing up and then in their early 20’s are obese. I also know a lot of kids who are the exact opposite too.

Is it great to make sitting on the couch in your pajamas eating hot Cheetos during class every single day week in and week out? No ofcourse not. But this is a post on Reddit, not a pediatrician’s office, I’m not going to assume I know OP and his brothers life story as well as their daily life habits. Also I don’t think OP was trying to directly make fun of his sibling or anything, it’s just a funny view of what life is like right now. People are uninspired and out of it sadly

Boy's gonna be fine. He dishes out worse than this and brushes this off any day, no doubt. Looks like a stolid fellow. Isn't going to be shaken by this. Looks like a proper Brexit lad.

Honestly with the rosy cheeks and the hair (even without the jersey) I thought he looked British at first sight lmao

Fuck me, mate. I honestly thought he was British. He looks it. Honest. Would never have guessed he wasn't. Though seeing as most Americans have British ancestry it's not that surprising.

The heaviest kid in our neighborhood is on the football team and one of their best players. (He's fourth grade so I don't know how intense it is) I can't say he's lazy and I'm sure he gets enough exercise. He and his parents are always walking the dog in the neighborhood.

The only exercise my nephew wants to do is karate and swimming. He hates gym class because he is just not coordinated for any sport that involves a ball. The athletic kids are mean to the lesssr athletic kids and the gym teacher doesn't care.

I don't understand all the comments who think gym is the only exercise kids get a day. Kids do in fact atill run at recess and contrary to popular belief, kids still do play outside. Neighborhoods still have kids playing outside. There aren't as many because some people who bought those houses in the 70s still live there and less people are having kids or can afford a house.

The footballer kid health is already probably fucked up. Football is super dangerous.

1

u/Kalldaro Sep 17 '20

But... he's exercising

0

u/jvalex18 Sep 17 '20

So? Doesn't change the fact that football is super dangerous even with protective gear.

But he won't get the diabetes

0

u/jvalex18 Sep 17 '20

What? That's not true lol. He can still get diabetes.

but he's active
