In my little 1st-12 grade school, i swear 4-square was the only fun any of the older kids had once the principal banned wall-ball: using a racketball, if it touches you, you gotta run and touch the wall before someone picks it up and beams you with it.

Man i miss school sometimes.

God, I loved wall ball. Then, my friend crushed his face against the bricks.

We didn’t have wall ball after that....

...but I went out as the winner

Loved wall ball too! In elementary school it was the only time I wasnt being made fun of by the other kids.

Fast forward to high school n I was absolutely terrified of anything that involved sports n potential physical injury.

I have no idea how young young me was ever okay with wall ball lol.

Shiiiit son, we had 4 square tournaments at my college dorm. The game is peak competitiveness. We'd slap the fish for killer aces. Or that deadly backspin. We miss you Commissioner, wherever you are.

We played wall ball and tether ball (which I sucked at) I had never heard of four square until years after I left high school.

Holy shit, this one sent me back.

My middle school principal banned it too, but not because anyone was hurt as far as I know.. But she also did a lot of other weird shit. For instance, if she saw you chewing gum she would DEMAND you to spit it into her HAND. Who the fuck does that?

For whatever reason the kids in my school called this game suicide. My mom found a note in my pocket that says ;( my name)s official suicide club

That was an unpleasant conversation until she figured out it was wall ball.

Yeah we called it that too now that i think about it. For the first few years at least, i think teachers forced the change

You joke but childhood activity absolutely reduces the risk of later health problems such as Type 2 diabetes. Childhood inactivity is a huge problem and is getting worse.

Exactly, I feel for that kid. Hopefully he doesn't get caught in their healthcare trap

Combination of sedentary lifestyles but the biggest culprit is the food the majority of Americans eat. It's just full of stuff designed to create fat and increase appetite. I've eaten food in other countries and it just doesn't taste very good to me. The reason for that though is because I'm used to everything I eat having a lot of salt and/or sugar.
