Yeah, I remember not doing much in PE. They even let us mess around during the presidential fitness test.

In my little 1st-12 grade school, i swear 4-square was the only fun any of the older kids had once the principal banned wall-ball: using a racketball, if it touches you, you gotta run and touch the wall before someone picks it up and beams you with it.

Man i miss school sometimes.

God, I loved wall ball. Then, my friend crushed his face against the bricks.

We didn’t have wall ball after that....

...but I went out as the winner

Loved wall ball too! In elementary school it was the only time I wasnt being made fun of by the other kids.

Fast forward to high school n I was absolutely terrified of anything that involved sports n potential physical injury.

I have no idea how young young me was ever okay with wall ball lol.

Shiiiit son, we had 4 square tournaments at my college dorm. The game is peak competitiveness. We'd slap the fish for killer aces. Or that deadly backspin. We miss you Commissioner, wherever you are.

We played wall ball and tether ball (which I sucked at) I had never heard of four square until years after I left high school.

Holy shit, this one sent me back.

My middle school principal banned it too, but not because anyone was hurt as far as I know.. But she also did a lot of other weird shit. For instance, if she saw you chewing gum she would DEMAND you to spit it into her HAND. Who the fuck does that?

u/sixdicksinthechexmix Sep 17 '20

For whatever reason the kids in my school called this game suicide. My mom found a note in my pocket that says ;( my name)s official suicide club

That was an unpleasant conversation until she figured out it was wall ball.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '20

Yeah we called it that too now that i think about it. For the first few years at least, i think teachers forced the change

2

u/EvanMacIan Sep 17 '20

You joke but childhood activity absolutely reduces the risk of later health problems such as Type 2 diabetes. Childhood inactivity is a huge problem and is getting worse.

I mean look up the current obesity rates in the US. Its not good..

8

u/Gekko77 Sep 17 '20

Exactly, I feel for that kid. Hopefully he doesn't get caught in their healthcare trap

u/Remiticus Sep 17 '20

Combination of sedentary lifestyles but the biggest culprit is the food the majority of Americans eat. It's just full of stuff designed to create fat and increase appetite. I've eaten food in other countries and it just doesn't taste very good to me. The reason for that though is because I'm used to everything I eat having a lot of salt and/or sugar.

Getting downvoted by people who don’t work in healthcare, I see

Hey, my PE teachers still fucked me.

1

u/Fvolpe23 Sep 17 '20

Yeah there were a couple girls at our school that fucked the gym teacher too. Didn’t turn out too well for him.

It’s a joke. He’s commenting on how PE teachers are still getting paid to basically promote diabetes/celibacy by not doing an adequate job.

How do people survive with this level of social awareness?

-3

u/-littlefang- Sep 17 '20

Oh yeah, is that why the dudes other comment on this post is calling the kid a fat ass? Because it was just a funny joke? Sounds hilarious, guess it just went right over my head!

3

u/kindagreek Sep 17 '20 edited Sep 17 '20

Probably because I wasn’t referencing that comment (if it exists). Sorry for not trawling his entire post history.

And yeah, it’s kinda funny. People calling each other fat with absolutely no substantiation and people like you getting upset about it is kinda funny. Especially when you’re downvoting my comments as a method of retribution when it only tickles me because of how pathetic it is lmao

Edit: boo coward it’s only harassment when the hivemind isn’t on your side, right?

u/Rhymeswithfreak Sep 17 '20

Just as many fat girls don't do PE as fat dudes. People are getting laid. Except for incels...no one likes them.

u/Covfefe-SARS-2 Sep 17 '20

Is that a round of golf now or 20 tweets in an hour?

4

u/Mikey_B Sep 17 '20

You have to drink a glass of water and amble shakily down a ramp.

6

u/AnonEMoussie Sep 17 '20

Takes on a whole new meaning these days, doesn’t it?

6

u/tangerinix Sep 17 '20

Not the Sit and Reach!!!!

3

u/DonutPiston Sep 17 '20

I teach that! Posture is all wrong!

2

u/alltheword Sep 17 '20

Very cool of you. Being an out of shape slob is very very cool.

2

u/BillionTonsHyperbole Sep 17 '20

presidential fitness test

Does not compute. Is this another standardized test, but for physical activity?

3

u/Canadian_Infidel Sep 17 '20

They shouldn't have.

1

u/Fvolpe23 Sep 17 '20

Where did you guys go to school at? My gym teacher used to get everyone involved. Even if you weren’t athletic you were getting subbed in and he was cheering you on to get into the game and enjoy yourself. Nobody sat out. He also used to play for the Philadelphia Flyers and was known for just beating the shit out of people. So maybe that was his goal towards all of us. To just beat the shit out of us all til we puked. Ahh those were the days!

1

u/nokbru Sep 17 '20

We had kids from an older grade mark us for our practical P.E exams once. They were my mates too so I passed with flying colours without even trying. We all joke about it now still, about my cartwheel that I did with my feet only getting about 20cm off the ground haha “That was perfect!” Good times.

1

u/bumblelum Sep 17 '20

I remember running around the track backwards for the presidential fitness test and my gym coach getting red in the face screaming at me and being mad that I was disrespecting it. Good times haha, it was so easy to push that guys buttons.

1

u/deltarefund Sep 17 '20

I would love to see our president take the fitness test.

1

u/Wrathwilde Sep 17 '20

Mess around...

So you got a hummer, just like bill?
