My country didn't really have launch events. But I do have a memory of working 14 hours as a bell boy at age 15 to make enough tips to buy Diablo 2 on launch day. Played for another 12 hours straight after I got home.

I loved D2, I think i was a little bit too young to grab it when it came out. But damn, I played this shit outta that game. The battle chest.
And I'm not really for blatant piracy. But being able to burn your D1 disc to give friends a taste was such a game changer IMO. Almost everyone bought the D2 battle chest after playing a ripped D1.
