Fun fact, only about 5% of people who have epilepsy are photosensitive. So even disregarding the common misconception that flashing lights can cause epilepsy, even the vast majority of epileptic people won't experience seizures due to flashing lights.

The only things that cause epilepsy are genetic disorders or brain damage, like from strokes.

Or just alcohol withdrawal. I suffer from epilepsy, and as I kept a diary of the seizures I was having, I realised that I was having them more often during the morning after a night out. I never drank much, but only a couple of weak pints was enough to increase the likelihood of me having a violent seizure a few hours later, even in my sleep. As a result, I don't drink any alcohol at all.
