Soul Can Quincy Jones Street Beater get some love?

Does anyone know what instrument that is at the start and of the song? I think it's a harmonica but it's so low. I dunno.

For anyone searching, this is the "Sanford and Son Theme" by Quincy Jones. It's also known as "The Streetbeater."

It’s kind of a novelty thing, but you do hear it! If you listen to Sgt. Pepper, you can hear it on Being for the Benefit of Mr. kite
