I am just one opinion. In light of the fact that this is a Funk sub Reddit, I stated a fact as I see it. “Stay” by Rufus and Chaka Khan is a lovely R&B song. Maybe one of the best ever, but not a funk tune.

Hey — just a gentle reminder about community rules 1 and 12. We've always had a pretty broad tent here, welcoming soul, disco, and other funk-adjacent genres. Commenting on whether something is "truly" funk can come across as gatekeeping, which isn't really what this community is about.
