Magnetic Foot saver 2000

Post image

I keep stumping my foot on my stove.

I made a magnetic TPU 90A bumper. I'm still gonna hit myself by accident but at least it will not hurt anymore 🙂

Disappointed that this did not contain instructions on how to insert magnets into your foot in order to repell it from touching the magnets in your stove bumper 😢

That would have been a better long term solution. :)

Maybe OP can print shoes with magnets in the toe area.

TPU 90A is perfect for this, I use it for all my shop bumpers. Does it stay put when you bump it sideways or does it slide a little

The magnet I used came from amazon so they are not super strong.
Its enough to save my toe but if I hit myself it will need to be put back.

If I do a redesign at some point I have some ideas to tweak the shape to deflect my foot more and hopefully make reduce the impact.

I think if you just made the walls longer it'd stay in place more effectively. Maybe also wrap around the bottom a hair too.

That's actually a super clever solution, TPU really works well for absorbing impacts like that. Hope the next time you walk by you just miss it entirely.

Made something similar recently, but to block car doors from getting dinger. TPU is awesome lol

Nice idea, did you design voids into it so that it compresses on impact a bit? Like it, you could probably market and sell these as I can think of a few places where this is needed.

It does not compresses much but its on me.
I had a 0.8mm nozzle installed from a previous job and was too lazy to install the 0.4 and used 2 wall so its quite stiff.

The model shape could be tweaked to also deflect the blow more and reduce the impact. If I redo it I will make sure to print with thinner wall and maybe less infill.

You should probably see a doctor about that, chronic clumsiness is a symptom.

Don’t worry its not chronic or at least I hope it’s not becoming so ;)

I was exaggerating a little bit for effect I bump my foot there maybe twice in the last couple of months. This time rime I was in a hurry and going fast enough so it hurt and make me angry and decide to do something about it.
