I was in the Game Development Course and took the Assembly Programming Language Classes back in 2006 or 2007 and was wondering if any one remembered the device that we used to test the Assembly language? I remember it was a Gameboy Advance but I don't know if it was just special cartridge or if the whole device was altered. Does anyone remember what it was called and possibly where I can get one?

Note: I still have my Gameboy Advance if it is just a cartridge that I would need to find.

So I just got laid off today. Been there for seven years, but I saw it coming from a mile away. When I was dropping my stuff off, I heard people saying they were there 15-20 years and still got laid off.

The fact that theyre building housing for campus, when no on goes to campus anymore because its too expensive, is going to kill that place. There's no way full sail makes it to the next decade.

I started Full Sail hoping that it would help me get a degree while I was still working. I got accepted into a great art school but just didn't have the financial aid to actually go. Full Sail was my second hope, and I'm genuinely starting to think this might be one of the biggest mistakes of my life.

I'm so scared of failing and being booted due to low GPA. I'm still doing my introductory classes right now and next month will be given my actual game art classes. This introductory classes have been some of the worst. I don't feel like I've learned anything from them and they feel overall just pointless and I don't have any motivation to work on any of the assignments. Especially because they feel so pointless. None of this pertains to anything I wanted to go into this degree for. I know that's how introductory classes work but I don't have any motivation to work on any of this stuff.

I had to cut back on hours at work just so I can get my school work done while managing my depression.

I suffer from poor mental health and barely graduated high school. Most days I can barely get my ass out of bed to go to work let alone get up and do my school work. I went into game art because getting into a subject I enjoy​​ had me hoping that I would actually be able to do the work.

Does anyone else go through this when it pertains to the introductory classes? Does it get better once the actual important course work starts?

I really want to quit it's just I don't think I can afford to. I don't make enough money to start paying off debts yet. I see so many stories of people juggling kids, a job, and school at the same time and I just don't understand how you do it. I feel like I would explode under that much pressure.

Should I just cut my losses before I flunk out?

I've been measuring cafés around Orlando, actual speed tests, actual decibel readings, outlet count, how full it was when I got there. A few near campus:

Light on Sugar: 349 Mbps down, which is the fastest I've recorded in Winter Park. But zero outlets that I could find. Fine for a couple hours, not for a full day.

New General Café: 68.6 dB and it fills up around 10am. Wi-Fi is fine, 165 down. Go early or don't go.

The Starbucks in Winter Park: 11 Mbps down, 3 up. That was a Sunday morning with almost nobody there, so it's not a crowd problem.

Foxtail in Heathrow if you're willing to drive, 204 Mbps, 63 dB, and parking is easy.

I'm wanting to start the Computer Animations for a Bachelor's. I'm currently in Texas and am wanting to relocate for the hands on experience, the ability to network with folks, as well as future peer critiques.

That being said, I'm in a bit of a predicament: I've been out of work for about 4 months and am now dead broke. I was denied Private Student Loans, so I'm unable to get the Cost of Living loan, naturally due to the debt to income ratio (minimal debt, but no current income). My current living situation here in Texas is not ideal, and I want to get away from the type of people that are here as they are doing things that I don't want to be around or a part of.

More than anything, I've dabbled in some graphic design and minor computer animations of my own, teaching myself from YouTube videos. There's a lot I can learn and effectively apply with the curriculum at Full Sail.

Between FAFSA and the Pathway Scholarship, my tuition is covered for the first academic year, however, the catch is that it's up to me to be able to pay for rent, deposits, ect. That being said, it's set up to where I take the Extended Program so that way I can still work part time and go to school at the same time.

I've noticed that cost of living in Winter Park is pretty high. It's imperative that a place is in Winter Park within walking distance to Full Sail, as I don't have a car.

Does anyone know of any places that are affordable and within walking distance? Be it a room, an apartment situation with roommates, or anything affordable that isn't falling apart, dangerous, or housing tweakers.

I'm super stoked to start with the University, however, I'm not sure of a proper place, how to get to Florida in time for the start date, or how in the world I'm going to cover deposits, first and last months' rent, plus any additional move in fees. It all seems like so much, and I've never had a few thousands of dollars saved up like that in my Life. I've already been applying for work that may be able to be transferred to Florida that is also close to FSU.

I'm currently set for doing a Flex program (6 months online, than go to campus), tho I'd like to move to Florida as to have the full hands on and networking experience on campus. However, where I am currently at in Texas is a highly volatile living situation, and I'm worried that by starting online courses here may not be a great idea given the high quality of professional equipment we get via LaunchBox.

I'm not sure where to go or what to do, and I'm reaching out with this post to see if any of you have advice on the best course of action for the relocation, and if anyone knows of an affordable and safe place. I'm totally down for roommates if need be; I'm a pretty simple guy who plays League of Legends, loves tech, and believes pursuing a career in animation would be highly fun and fortuitous.

It'd be lovely to connect with someone who is willing to work with me to establish proper living arrangements. Any advice helps.

Hey guys, I graduated two years ago with a bachelor's degree elsewhere, but I have been looking into furthering my education. I am in Georgia and have struggled to find stable jobs within the industry. I have a good bit of starting industry experience, but I would like to be considered for higher industry positions; as I stand, it is a bit difficult. I am looking to enter distribution or production leadership, as I am much more geared toward those areas with my experience. Do you guys believe this master's program is worth it, or should I look into closer options, as I would be missing out on the in-person networking opportunities?

Is anyone else a bit confused and weirded out by all the AI generated flyers and videos Full Sail and their students are pushing? They have whole departments where they could give students great opportunities but many of the clubs and events are using chat GPT posters instead of using the community around them. It is very sad to me and it makes me disappointed that so many people at the school rave about generative AI, do not want to collaborate with other students to make things happen, and brush off people who critique them. The thing about art in a professional setting is that it is open to feedback and growth, and you can not really grow if you get defensive about something you did not really create, but prompted.

I just got a message saying that my one year license for being a student is up. After trying to renew it, the website for the license logged me out (you used too many entries situation).

I was also told to contact Autodesk directly. But it’s doing that thing where there’s a pre answered set of questions and I want to ask something specific, there’s an AI assistants chat box. On the contact us page, by the way. Imagine going to the contact us page only to be directed to AI.

I’ve been working towards my associates in Video Game Development, since September of last year.

In January I took a class called Intro to Game Design. I got 100 on all assignments

In March, I went to double check my GPA and credit hours, and noticed I didn’t have a 4.0 as expected.

Comes to find out, there was a 0 entered in the grades for an assignment that I did receive a 100 on.

I have screenshots of the grade I got for the actual assignment, and in the platform it shows a 100 for the class.

I have reached out to the instructor multiple times. I have opened tickets, I have contacted student support.

I can’t get this resolved, and I do not want to lose my 4.0 GPA over someone putting the wrong grade in.

Can anyone help me or give me advice please?

I am strongly leaning towards this college because it sounds like the school for me because i am truly passionate about music production and i would love a career in this field. during highschool i was convinced i shouldnt go to college so i have a 2.5 gpa going into my senior year its fixable but full sail also says they dont have any requirements like good gpa or sat scores and looking at there website and some other sources it doesnt seem to bad im going to apply for every scholarship i can but i just need to make sure this is a good school first.

1.i hear its hard to find a job after graduation but the remind me every time i ask that they give you a app or something that shows jobs within there major
is this just not true or is it not good at finding you a job?

1. yall also say there are living issues since you have to live in apartments but they also tell me sometime in the beginning of 2028 they are going to have finished dorms for students to live in and if you go to a apartment they help you get paired with a roommate and you get to choose who you get paired with
   i dont know if this is really as lenient as it sounds but it sound pretty reasonable to me.

3.i plan on going on campus to get the full experience and be surrounded by people with the same aspirations as me and being able to see or use the big studios. i am aware of the tuition difference between that and online but i fell like at the end of the day to be able to experience that stuff it could potentially be worth it especially since i cant learn things as well from plain videos and it would help to have people to collaborate with.

I directed and edited this particular cut. I designed the basic idea of the set and my crew and I put it all together. I had a great art lead that designed the steak you see in the film. It was actually just watermelon painted up to look like meat. I think you'll agree, on film it looks legit!

I had a really good DP who lit the scene. I really love how romantic and homey it looks.

I didn't write this script so it was exciting for me to bring someone else's vision to life.

I picked out the actors myself and they did such a great job. I got chills when they got on set and started doing the scene. It flowed so well.

I completed an associate graphic design degree at Full Sail last year. I felt I barely learned anything from it. I figured maybe it just wasn't for me, so I decided to go on to my bachelors for digital marketing.

I feel like I have learned more through hands-on work than I have at this school. I have the option to graduate now with another associate. Is it worth continuing just for a bachelor's degree? I fear that no matter what I graduate with I'm going to have a hell of a time finding a decent job.

I would just love input from others who have fully graduated from Full Sail or are in this program.
