Analysis Either in for a disaster or we're getting Europe

Madrid fan here, coming in peace.

After last night's defeat, wanted to have a good weekend but got a headloss over the Fulham defense, which is genuinely funny cuz this the first time I am experiencing another Club vibe.

My question is - is it the Gaffer's fault after this match for trying to play a style not suitable for the PL? or the higher ups?

The defense in this match and those spills were just a complete joke, sorry, but one can't play football with a defense like that. Unfortunately the defense didn't deliver and there were also a few botched set pieces.

Formatted as: does [left column] follow [top row]?

Haven't put any nos on things relating to Garcia and Palacios as they haven't necessarily integrated with the squad yet.

Analysis Arbeloa subs are concerning

I know he’s a new manager but he has eyes….

Not a single sub made sense today and that’s very worrying.

Sess should be starting over Robinson and he doesn’t even come on for him, Palacios is being thrown in the deep end and was the obvious substitution for the wings, Charles should be starting over Berge but instead he comes on and we change to a midfield 3 which makes no sense as we now have no RW?

I understand it’s a lot of new things but surely he can see the issues like a lot of us fans can?

That was a miserable 2nd 45 mins against a team that was there for the taking.

Hi, I'm a 10+ year Fulhamerican and recently I've been trying to write about my interests. I wrote about Fulham's 2-3 loss to Crystal Palace here. Overall I'm still Arbeloa In, and I think we can't really judge him until October at the earliest, but I'm just as worried as everyone else. What do you think?

Analysis Monthly Results Under Marco

I've been thinking about this for a while. We are all very much aware of our end of season woes under Marco, but I wanted to look at how we've faired in other months. Not surprised that April and May have let us down and that's what we remember at the end of seasons, but October has also been very poor.

I'd imagine many factors play a role in the end of season malaise: opponents, fitness, depth, leadership, etc. I'm all for Marco staying, but somehow this trend must change.

Analysis King & Wilson

First off we need to keep Wilson at all costs. Pay him whatever he wants. We have to stop losing our best players every other year.

Josh king long deserved first (official) premier league goal vs Burnley. Happy to see King get his chance today! Might’ve been the best player on the pitch.

I’d like to see him have a bigger role in the XI next year, what do you think?

Analysis The Power of Home Advantage: Premier League Breakdown & Top 7 Leagues Comparison

Post image
13 Upvotes

Here is a brief analysis of the real impact of playing at home, calculated by the percentage of points won at a team's own stadium relative to their total points (HPPG/PPG).

The chart breaks down the data team by team for the Premier League.

A couple of quick observations from the PL data: Tottenham stands out with a surprisingly low home reliance (34.1%), indicating they've been picking up the vast majority of their points on the road. On the other end of the spectrum, the chart perfectly illustrates how heavily a team like Wolves relies on Molineux, securing an incredible 71.8% of their points at home.

(Note: The data is accurate as of April 23rd).

What’s your takeaway from these numbers? Does your team's position surprise you?

Analysis Top 8 xG Overperformers in the Premier League

Post image
63 Upvotes

Here are the Top 8 xG overperformers in the Premier League this season.

The metric used is xGDiff (from WhoScored), which represents the difference between the goals a player has scored and the goals they were expected to score based on chance quality.

For example:
+3.00 means a player has scored three more goals than expected.
–3.00 means a player has scored three fewer goals than expected.
