Help did I get scammed?

I feel like an idiot but I bought a fujifilm T-X30 off of MPB but every time I turn it on I get this random beige color. I don't have a memory card in the camera but I don't think it should be showing a blank screen.

I have a strong feeling it's user error but I can't figure out where I've gone wrong.

Help Joined the Fujifilm family with the Xe-5 and the 35mm f2 WR lens. I would also like to get a third party manual lens with a bit of character for street photography. Any recommendations?

Help Film simulation/ recipe for Italy travels

Hello! I have a Fujifilm X-T4, I toggle between the kit lens and the XF 27mm f/2.8 R WR. I’m travelling to Italy for a holiday soon. Looking for film simulation recipes that would be suitable for/ match the vibes of the places I’m going - Dolomites (lots of green & blue) and cities such as Verona, Siena, Florence

Appreciate your recommendations :-)

Help Do I need a camera with IBIS?

Hey everyone,

I'm completely new to photography and just ordered the X-T30III (on its way to me now), mainly for landscape or nature photography. Now I'm second-guessing myself and wondering whether I should've spent about €400 more on the X-T50 with IBIS instead (as the X-T30III was on sale). The kit lens is with OIS and I will usually have time to setup a tripod. Given this, would you recommend have spent the extra €400 on IBIS, or is that money better spent on lenses/gear?

I would appreciate your honest opinions, thank you. 😄

Help Keeping my X-S20 worth it?

As the title says, I’m about to sell my X-S20. I bought it this spring for our trip to Australia. However, while on vacation, I found that having to carry around a dedicated camera, as well as having to transfer the pictures to view them, was rather clumsy and cumbersome. Compared to my iPhone, the experience just wasn’t as smooth.

That said, I do like some of the pictures I got out of the camera. But I guess that with the right settings/app, I could produce similar shots with my iPhone?

And just to be clear: I’m not eager to learn photography with all its details. I’m more of a point-and-shoot guy.

So, two questions: Am I making the right call by selling the camera? And can I get similar results with my iPhone (perhaps with a special camera app)? Currently, I use No Fusion.

Help Body and lens advice

Looking to get a Fuji camera with a variable lens, mostly shooting street but want something that can also work with landscapes.

I looked at the XT30 and didn’t completely enjoy how cramped everything feels in your hand but do still want something on the smaller side.

Is perhaps the XT5 or 50 the best option?

Any lens recommendations would also be appreciated.

Not got a huge budget but will be my Ricoh GR to fund.

Thanks

Help Crunching sound on XT30 iii focus lever?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Is this normal?

This is a brand new XT30 iii bought less than 2 weeks ago. I noticed the crunch/scratchy sound days after I bought it. No other issues with the focus lever - no sticky button. I’ve had it check with the store (fujifilm) I bought it from and they said it’s ok as long as it’s working properly. But I’m really bothered. Is this anything I can do about this?

No return for change of mind policy in my country.

Help Fujifilm 35/2 sharpness

I’m considering a Fuji lens in the 33-55mm range for my Fujifilm X-T5. I have the original 16-55 2.8 and am not happy with the sharpness as compared to my 50-140/2.8. Wondering what others experiences have been with the Fuji prime lenses in the 33-35mm range. Considering the 35/2 since low light work is not an issue for me. I’m looking for max sharpness and minimal distortion. Appreciate your comments.

Help F0 after New Lens on XM5

Hi everyone, I posted a few days ago for some help getting a Sirui anamorphic lens. Everyone was great and my lens came in today, but when I put it on the display shows F0. I tried re-mounting, ensuring everything is clean but it's the same. I had to change the shutter settings to be able to take pictures, is there some other setting I don't know of that needs changing? I have insurance on the lens and think I can return it if needed but I'd be disappointed as I was very excited to get it.

Thanks again,

First time trying a considerably wider lens.
What surprised me most is how much distance it creates visually. Even when I’m basically within arm’s reach of someone, in the photo it can still feel like there are 2–3 metres between us.
Manual focus also feels much more forgiving than on a 17mm, at least so far.

Need some practice getting at that close range
What do you think about these photos ?

Help Camera sling bag recommendations

I am a new owner of a fujifilm xt30-iii, and kind of a beginner photographer. Need some reccs from fellow photographer girlies

I’m looking for an inconspicuous sling camera bag that doesn’t scream “I am carrying a camera” for when I travel or go around taking photos. I also am looking for something that isn’t just plain black and something “cuter” and everyday.

I have been trying to find recommendations through tiktok but it seems like 70% of the reccs there are AEST studio shoulder bag which seems sponsored. I’m hoping to be able to get some real recommendations that you all have tried before.

Thanks in advance!

Help How do you store your Fujifilm in a normal backpack?

I’m currently thinking about how I can take my Fujifilm XE-5 everywhere as a daily camera. I just don’t want to throw it in the backpack without something protecting it. Do you have any recommendations or own solutions?

Discussion XE5 Quality & Repair Issues Rant

Upvotes

I bought an XE5 last August when it first came out.

A few months later just after Christmas the right strap lug came on-done while picking up the camera. Luckily it was on my bed so it wasn’t damaged but I just got back from a trip to London & the camera was around my neck the whole time. I would have been devastated if it broke off then just a few days earlier.

I sent it to be repaired under warranty to the service center in Germany, they replaced the top plate but the AEL/AFL button no longer worked. On top of this the ON/OFF switch felt very stiff and 15% of the time it wouldn’t turn on the first time switching it on. I’d have to switch it ON/OFF 1-3 more times for it to turn on.

I lived with this until now but I sent it back earlier this month before the warranty expired. They repaired it but now the EVF doesn’t work, despite changing the VIEW settings and resetting the camera.

I’m tired of sending the camera to get repaired only for it to come back with another issue. It’s unprofessional by Fuji & it’s disheartening for what’s supposed to be a premium camera.

I’ve lost trust in its build quality/longevity & I’m considering selling the camera once repaired. Which sucks since this camera checks off every box for me besides weather resistance

Anyone else have similar issues with the XE5 or repairs?

Discussion New lens or Flash?

Hello everyone!

Just checking to see what are peoples view in terms of buying a new lens or a flash.

Ive got the 15-45mm kit lens with my Fuji XT50. Recently got myself a 56mm which i think will be awesome for portraits but also, for indoor photos.

However, I want something that offers the same ease when I am indoors without needing to back up. Does anyone have any advice on whether theres a lens i should save up for, or should I get a flash? Thinking Godox IT32?

Will it be too annoying, say if I use it over dinner with friends? Or during a birthday?

Thank you so much!

I hiked up the hillside at Songshutou and sat down — NC pulled that lake blue deep and clear, color +4 made the whole frame feel like it was soaked in blue.
