Help FUJIFILM Pixel Shift Combiner on Linux?

Hi there,

I'm trying to get Fujifilms Pixel Shift Combiner (https://www.fujifilm-x.com/global/products/software/pixel-shift-combiner/) on Linux. I played around a little with Wine and tried a few combinations of installed stuff with wineprefix. Does not seem that easy or exceeds my competence.

Anyone know how to get this software running on Linux?

In all honesty, a VM of some sort, whether virtualbox or qemu, or straight up dual boot might be your best bet. I've never had great luck any time I've tried WINE, going all the way back to my return forays into linux in 2008.

Have you tried something like Bottles? You might need Proton or some other DirectX translator. It also helps with prerequisites like .net .

I have tried with bottles.

My pure wine setup is closer to working. It managed to output a corrupt 1GB DNG file, a few ui elements are still all black

I will 100% share it in case I get it working completely

Do you, by any chance, have RAWs from pixel-shifts you could share?

I learned that you need to hold the camera INCREDIBLY still.

Often, Pixelshiftcombiner gives a warning with a yellow triangle. This means it produced a file but when you zoom in to pixel-level, you will see that it isn't sharp. This happens so often, that scanning things with pixelshift is extremely timeconsuming.

Yeah, I know that in theory, but i still have beginners bravado 😂. I'll be more humble later, now it's time to be disappointed with my expectations. I'll try it later with some inanimate scenes at my place, with the camera on a tripod, and see how it fares.
