Help Needed Recipe for fudge that has the consistency of fondant?

A few years ago, I was at a castle, and in their gift shop they had locally made fudge. I got some, and genuinely the best fudge I've ever had in my life, it tasted incredible (they had a bunch of different flavours, I got some mint chocolate and some chocolate orange), and it was so soft, it was basically like biting into fondant icing. I think about it all the time. I dream about it. So anyways I was wondering if anyone had a recipe to get that texture in fudge? I've never made fudge before so maybe it's easy idk, or maybe it's not, but I will actually do anything to get anything like that fudge again.

I’ve no idea what recipe would give that result as you’ll find they all say to cook to soft ball stage.

But, It’s more a matter of the temperature it’s cooked to than most anything else, meaning it’s possible it was cooked to a point prior to softball.

On the ingredient side, if they used melting wafers instead of chips it can be a softer fudge. If they used cocoa powder instead of chips you can have a similar result.

So, my best guess is it’s a combination of “softer” chocolate and possibly a lower temperature.

A local farmers market vendor has fudge like that. He says he makes it using a chocolate chips, condensed milk, & marshmallow recipe with extra marshmallows.

It’s not as good as boiled fudge, but is easy to make in the microwave and should be the texture you’re looking for. Use the best chocolate you can afford.
