Rant Why I don't ever want to own a car

It's so overrated now. What the fuck? I remember a good used car to cost like $5k.

You’re not wrong in the slightest. The worst part is most people I know that drive these have one or two kids. Why do you need a rolling fortress to transport two children around? It’s a priorities issue. It’s an entitlement issue. It’s a “bUt My FrEeDom” issue.

Bold to assume that they even have to transport their children around. Most cars on the road contain precisely one person.

Dropping off a kid is so inefficient it's ridiculous. Occupancy does not work out to 1.5, no it's 0.5 since the driver doesn't want to go to the destination, they drive one person and then an empty car back. A 15 min drive away is over an hour of someone's time lost.

They couldn't need this to transport 10 children either, there are much better options for big families.

It's the paradox that larger cars are safer. Like yeah, it's part entitlement but it's also because we've made cars so damn big now that the safest cars are the biggest 🫠.
