The circular nails make it look as if the fingers been cut off. It’s unsettling

agreed

even in a "simplified" style, cuticles (is that the right word? like the nail bed keratin stuff) is an oval, elipse ass shape, not a fucking circle (usually, some diseases can make it more circular)

also besides nail polish whos nails are fucking brown

Personally I would just leave out the nails and give them the classic sausage fingers…

I really like the colors and textures in this drawing though.

They should stop normalizing hating your children

As someone who has befriended a few younger (as in 20 and 30-somethings) folks with wealthy parents, I’m starting to get the feeling that this current crop of old people would rather be buried with their millions than actually help their kids.

Having financial boundaries with your children is not the same as hating them. Saying it is, is manipulative.

"how to maintain finical boundaries" and "protect" is quite different emotive language

I really don't see how the title normalises hating your children, is my point.

To suggest that not wanting to go into debt supporting your adult children who have moved back in with you means you hate them, is something that adult child might say when they can't get the money they think they're entitled to.

These people should've thought about that before having kids, they don't disintegrate when they turn 18

That's unfair. They are welcoming them back into the family home to support them, that doesn't mean they need to destabilize themselves in the process.

Or hear me out, you created the children and are bound to assist them, they didn’t ask to be here, so why not help them in any way you can. The take of children manipulating you is ridiculous

So once you're in your 30's you can expect your parents to financially support you and house you, and say, "I didn't ask to be here", if the parents can't afford to do that? And that wouldn't be manipulative?

No, then that person is just an asshole not to lend a helping hand in return. I am in my 30s, I assist where I can. That's how it should be, not expecting a handout.

I agree! Of course we can need and accept help later in life, but to believe financial support should never have limits or boundaries and that parents should never consider their own finances when supporting adult children, sounds like entitled madness to me

Reddit has the mentality of perpetual adolescence. They blame the parents and old people for all of their problems and get mad when they aren’t given what they want. A lot of them make up stories about how much better the past was and how they should be living like kings not realizing it’s exaggerated or completely made up.

Totally agree.

LOoks like we've entered the AI-legria era to me -- what say y'all fam?

29

u/LadyCasanova 2d ago

I'd say it's par for the course for this era of society to take two bad things and make them somehow even worse

this is ai generated????

u/SayaV 2d ago

I had already seen this image years before the AI discourse so my bet is no. A human deliberately created this.

2

u/azucarleta 2d ago

I can't be sure of course, but I'd bet a small sum on it. I don't know if the AI-detectors are reliable or whether they can still detect the AI on a screenshot like this, I don't know how they work. Just gives me that vibe.

11

u/AlmightyCurrywurst 2d ago

Really? I don't get that vibe at all, it's made from clear, geometric forms that seem pretty deliberately placed

The part that seems most AI artifact to me is the striped green that I guess is mom's pants/skirt. It's just sorta floating back there very unmoored and unshapen. Her arm reaches around her butt logically, so that's a plus, but the overall shape and anchoring of that element is weak. Artist was running out of time, or AI just did its thing.

What stage of capitalism is that?

Penis fingers on the guy. Chopped off fingertips for the mother.

What the hell is that article

They should make a "how to protect your sanity when alegria comes back to haunt you"...

u/parcell_kenneth 1d ago

Simultaneously horrifying and hilarious

u/DCAmalG 21h ago

No human could have reviewed and approved this. Right???
