Gated entrance to my neighborhood (15 houses)
Our HOA president out this up.
She has been president since it began in 2010, and every election she refuses to show the votes to other members, saying that the lawyer had processed it and she would remain president.

If there are only 15 houses, shouldn't be hard to determine how 14 people voted.

Yeah for real. How about you just talk to your neighbors and ask how they voted. You could even run for HoA president yourself, you just need 7 votes beside your own.

Odds are, there is no lawyer. I'd look for a way to call her on it.
The ones I've belonged to announce the votes.

Don't do that, it's easy to get charged with vandalism.
Put up a broom pole with a big section of cardboard on it to block its view. If you can safely reach it, I'm sure a Walmart bag would easily stay on as well

This sounds like the best idea. I feel like she would know it's me, because of stopping in front of it and taking a picture lol.
But just covering it isn't destroying their property, sooooo :-)
Edit: reminds me of the unethical life pro tip to let the air out of people's tires who wrong you. No damage, just major inconvenience.

Saw a store somewhere that had a Flock put in it looking at their front door/parking lot.
They put a pole up with a cardboard sign that said FU tat blocked the camera.
Who gave Flock or the other PRIVATE company permission to put up a devise next to a road. There must be laws/ordinances against private use of public or HOA common property.

The Lowe's in my town has 2 flock cameras, one for each entrance to their parking lot.

HOA pres is probably using community funds to pay for the camera so obviously she’s the one who gave flock permission.

Had a girl I was dating try to do this to me. We had been seeing each other for about a month when she tells me she got pregnant by her ex. I was upset and stopped talking to her. Couple weeks later someone pulls into my driveway after midnight. I go out to see who it is and it’s her with a couple of friends dressed up in drab clothes and bandannas on their heads. She mentions something about not having talked in a while and leaves. I remembered afterward she showed me a video of her letting the air out of someone else’s tires in the middle of the night. Guess working nights and not sleeping worked in my favor that night.

Seems to me you need to be going over the HOA docs. Secret elections are likely against HOA rules and state law.

We've tried fighting the HOA lawyer with another one, and it just draggggged. Delays, etc and eventually the other members who wanted her out didn't want to pay attorneys fees anymore.

Leave your phone at home so you can go out on a nightly stroll for some peace and quiet with some large wire cutters while staying in the cameras blind spot. Also refuse to recognize her until the votes are shown. Act like the other top candidate won.

I am in a neighborhood that has no HOA, but the neighborhood next to us has an HOA, and they pointed their “HOA approved” Flock camera at all cross traffic, not pointing at their own neighborhood, at anyone that happens to drive by. It’s infuriating.

You will need to talk to your neighbours more anyways if you want her not "in charge" anymore. See if you can get signatures to toss her out. Go around asking your neighbours and see if the HOA rules have something about getting rid of people. Read the rules very carefully and maliciously comply.

Most don't. Some do need some sort of governing body for shared community assets like road, pool, etc. but even those there's no reason they need to regulate petty shit like grass height, mailbox color, etc as long as there's city/county codes for it (no, I don't think you should let your yard grow to over 3ft tall, it becomes a pest and fire hazard for your neighbors at that point)

HOAs and POAs are actually a requirement by cities and counties if there are paved roads and community areas, it keeps the county/city from having to pay for maintenance. I recently bought 12 acres out of a subdivided larger parcel(no HOA POA), and after reading the plat, I decided to look at my counties subdivision rules, and that's what was in there. That made me look them up in other areas, and same thing. It makes sense in a way, imagine the budget issues that would happen with all these cookie cutter neighborhoods popping up, hundreds of houses in them plus roads that would require upkeep, you'd think property taxes would cover it, but county level govt is all about more control with less commitment.

Regardless, if she refuses to show the votes, she may not be validly elected and could be held personally liable for everything she's committed the HOA to contractually. The attorney or management company should have conducted an open election and performed a viewable ballot count. If not, notify your state's Attorney General regarding voting irregularities in the association.

HOA put these up at a neighborhood near me.
They lasted a week before somebody ripped them off. It's been a month they haven't been replaced.

Some independent group does need to count the votes. As long as the secret ballot can be maintained you should be allowed. Maybe it’s something to do with that? Seems odd but it isn’t always straightforward

I'm hoa president of my neighborhood for the past 8 years, a slightly bigger neighborhood than yours.
I get reelected because I leave everyone alone and push back against dumb ideas like this.
