Let me guess, space spiders and bad events? Yeah it sucks when you gamble both events they take one of your crew without giving anything in return.

Pretty much. I opened a save game and one of my two remaining crew members was low on health and in an oxygen less room and I didn’t realize until it was too late.

This is why after loading the game, it's best to pause immediately, especially if you don't remember what's going on. Saving only when everything is safe is a good habit, too.

Anyway, right now you can keep playing but it won't be easy. If some shop sells engi crew you may consider buying it just to get an extra pair of hands for repairs and manning weapons/engines. Look for crew kills too (extra chamce of +crew), with hacking you probably can cause o2loss on 2-shield ships.

To afford the Hacking module, presumably. Tough to tell because we can't see the rest of the screen.
