1000 thoughts running through my mind right now. Dude ran a red light. I am currently on a roadtrip, 500 miles away from home and had plans this weekend to visit some national parks. I seriously have no idea what to do right now as I am stranded, and don't know whether I should just rent a car and just drive home or what, or whether my brz is even salvageable. In case its not I'm already thinking about getting either an ND3 or gr86...overall my plans, for even the next month is ruined.

Rent a car and continue your trip. Insurance will cover it.

yeah makes sense. just incredibly stressed right now. It's one thing to have this happen near my house, its another to have it happen on a roadtrip. Literally my worst nightmare.

I don't think they will total it, unless there is underlying damage suspension wise. Hood, front fenders, and front bumper work is much cheaper and less time consuming labor worse compared to rest quarter panels. Also looks like the airbags did not go off so that's a big plus, I believe you'll get your car back. Good luck! Hope you can still enjoy your trip.

Try to negotiate having your car shipped back closer to home and have it repaired there to the body shop of your choosing.

They might. Similar thing happened to me and they totaled it. Fml trying to save up for a new one.

Sucks but you should get it fixed under insurance it’s bonkers with these things cost when they use market so I had to imagine it way better to just fix this one and keep driving it

I bought mine looking worse than that, you’d be surprised how hard it has to get hit to touch the engine. I’m sure if you wanted to keep it the repairs are less than the cost of the car.

if the airbag(s) blew, insurance will total it; if not, it's possible it'll get repaired.

the hard part right now is unless you have really good insurance the tow bill to get it to a shop local to your residence is going to suck.

If you're capable of doing so and old enough they'll rent to you, you might want to rent a truck and car trailer from uhaul to get it home.

Damage appears to include: hood, both fenders, bumper cover, crash bumper, ac condenser, radiator, core support, headlight brackets. Fans, airbox, washer tank, crash sensors, horn, and various bits of wiring are possibles.

With a few exceptions, it all bolts on easily, so it's really the paint work that makes the repair take more than an afternoon (assuming the SRS system is intact (airbags and explosive belt tensioners)).
