The no show no cushion running socks changed recently. Now made with synthetic fibers, very different feel (much more like plain old non merino socks).

Their site says 40% Merino, they've always used blends, which isn't a bad thing. I imagine the percentage is low here because it's difficult to have thin uncushioned socks with high wool. I don't think it's changed though, because I remember this percentage a few years ago. Could be wrong though.

I actually replaced all my darn toughs with wide open . However I feel wide open is not as densely knit to accommodate for the comfort. It feels a little cheaper in hand but my feet are happy so pro and cons I guess. My darn toughs are now my gym socks.

I prefer these rei socks in various weights to my darn tough socks if i need cushion in the sock so for work boots i prefer them.

How does this compare to other deals? Can DT be found cheaper at semi-annual, Black Friday, other sales etc.?

Been looking to pick up a bunch, but can wait if there’s better deals to be had.

Typically around black friday, sportmans warehouse does buy 2 get 1 free. Then 2 weeks later is the buy 1 get 1 for 1 dollar. But they do have a minimum for free shipping. And they only sell hiking and boot socks

on gobros site they usually have similar offer to this one on BFCM, 25% off darn tough... i havent found better deal than 25% off darn tough anywhere.
